Small Ford Sunday

Now in its 5th year, Sunday 22 February will see the small Ford make a big impact at the National Motor Museum. Presented by Ford RS Owners Club of SA, The Small Ford Show promises to be a great gathering of vehicles from Anglias right through to Zephyrs. With all Ford lovers welcome on the day, the club encourages small Ford owners to enter.

Wizardry and Wheels

Harry on up to Birdwood, potter around the museum and have a spell-binding day out with the whole family!

A magical day at the National Motor Museum, with Amazing Magicians and Wizards, Quidditch workshops, Wheelie Kids, Enchanted Car display and Dress Ups, Face Painting, Magical LEGO® vehicle competition and displays, Bouncy Castle.

Magical LEGO® Vehicle Competition

13 December 2014 - 30 January 2015 , every day during the school holidays except for Christmas Day, 25 December.

Enter the National Motor Museum's latest LEGO competition! Create your own magical vehicle using LEGO supplied at the museum. There's a Lego trophy and a $250 LEGO voucher for winners in each of the four age categories - 4-6 years old, 7-9, 10-13 and 14 . The competition will be judged and prizes awarded at the end of the school holidays.

Mazda MX5 25th Anniversary

The MX-5 Club of South Australia is staging a 25th Anniversary display at the National Motor Museum to commemorate the release of the MX-5 in Australia in 1989. With over 947,000 sales,the Mazda MX-5 is the biggest selling sports-roadster in the world. The challenge is to achieve the largest display of MX-5s ever in South Australia!  So anyone who owns or drives an MX-5, regardless of its condition – old or new, is encouraged to come along and be involved.  And if it has some truly unique features even better.

Rummage through our dress up boxes and dress to suit our 1928 Chevrolet AB National Tourer. Take a selfie (or ask someone else to take your photo) and upload your photo to Facebook or Twitter, hashtag the National Motor Museum for a chance to win a $50 gift pack from the Museum shop.

Bay to Birdwood Run

Sunday 28 September 2014 10am to 5pm

The Bay to Birdwood is the largest historic motoring event of its kind in the world. This year's Run will see around 1000 vehicles manufactured prior to 1956 make their way from Adelaide Shores to the National Motor Museum in Birdwood. You could say the Bay to Birdwood is a museum on the move, a cavalcade of extremely rare and special vehicles which all South Australians can see on the last day in September.

Father's Day Car Run

You don't have to drive an old vehicle to join Collectable Classics for their hugely popular car run on Sunday 7 September, and help raise money for the Captain Courageous Foundation. The run starts at Mylor and finishes at the National Motor Museum with a BBQ lunch.
