Driving yourself nuts in the search for the perfect Father’s Day gift this year? All at sea? We’ve got it sorted. From 2 - 28 September 2013 take dad to the National Motor Museum and the SA Maritime Museum for FREE!
Each year families everywhere face the challenge of deciding what to buy him for Father’s Day. From socks and jocks, to beer nuts and barbeque aprons, Dads everywhere are usually left with little to celebrate on their special day.
So why not take him to the National Motor Museum or SA Maritime Museum for the day during September? Mum and the kids will love it too, with plenty to see for every generation. At the National Motor Museum check out the latest exhibition Sunburnt Country: Icons of Australian Motoring which tracks the history of motoring in the first half of the last century, or Model Behaviour, a great exhibit on car-related toys which appeals to kids of all ages. Plus there’s the amazing Holden Hurricane, a 1969 concept car that’s arguably every dad’s dream machine. At the SA Maritime Museum show him the ropes in Windjammers: The Last Grain Races, a new exhibition about the thrill and terror of rounding the Horn on board the last commercial sailing boats in the 1940s. Explore First Voyages: an exhibition showcasing incredibly rare accounts and artefacts from early Dutch, French and English voyages of discovery. Ogle at the artwork in Colum's priceless 17th century Dutch Zee-atlas, on display at the Museum for the very first time.
Whether you cruise up to Birdwood or drop anchor at the Port [or both], dad is going to love his day out!
