The National Motor Museum relies on the generosity of people to donate vehicles, automobilia, documents, records and images to the collection. We are careful to set priorities to ensure the collection grows without duplicating items already held by the Museum and ensure we have the resources to preserve them.
The Museum also welcomes offers on loan from generous vehicle owners in the community. Most loan agreements are for at least 12-months. Unfortunately, we cannot meet all offers due to space restrictions and display priorities.
All offers of loan and donation are assessed by the Museum’s acquisitions committee on a monthly basis and we endeavour to respond to your offer as quickly as possible.
You can learn more about the collection priorities on the collection FAQs page. If you would like to offer a donation or loan to the National Motor Museum please fill in the form below or contact us if you have any questions.
To help us with your offer please describe the object you would like to offer for loan or donation. Provide as much information as you can and if possible please include a couple of high quality photographs. The sorts of things you may include are:
- Make and model (if a vehicle)
- Current condition
- Any relevant history relating to the individual vehicle or the class of model
- Any relevant history of a person connected to the object
- At least one photograph of the vehicle or object in its current condition (for vehicle photographs preferably a three quarter front and rear shot in jpeg format)
